modifications and accommodations
Some modifications and accommodations that can be made for students with dyscalculia are:
- Allowing them to use graph paper on assignments in order to keep things organized and in line (National Center for Learning Disabilities [NCLD], 2006).
- The use of a calculator on assignments and exams where it is not permitted.
- Extra time on exams and assignments.
- Isolation during exams.
- Provide written notes for the student so that they may focus on learning the concept rather than taking notes.
